Toppling Empire Legacies - Colonial Statues and Black Lives Matter Protests

A conversation on the recent Black Lives Matter protest between activist Shabaka Kambon, and Institute for Small Islands Fellow Giselle Thomson-Lowe and the affect they have had on the recent protests in the Caribbean to remove colonial statues.


Shabaka Kambon is an accomplished communications professional through his work managing portfolios for private and public sectors at the national and regional level. He is currently working on projects related to climate change and gender equality in the OECS region.


Shabaka graduated from the University of the West Indies with a Bachelors Degree in History and a Masters degree in International Relations.
